What Graffiti Is About

A young painter gets into a fight with some bikers over the graffiti he has been doing in the underground. Because of it he loses the trip to Italy he was expecting and is sent instead to the Russian countryside. The life he finds there resembles nothing he expected, and the journey turns in a direction nobody foresaw. The film is about a young man finding his real work in the place he was sent as a punishment. The account neither prettifies the countryside nor looks down on it; it leaves the people there with stories of their own. Igor Apasyan’s hundred and ten minute Russian film was completed in 2006.
