What Green Hat Is About
The film tells two separate stories side by side. In the first, three young men rob a bank. After the robbery they plan to split up. One of them is to go to America, to his girlfriend. But on the way to the airport the police close in on him. In the second story there is a police officer. He begins looking into what his wife has been doing. What joins the two stories is being cheated on. The title comes from that; in Chinese, wearing a green hat describes a cuckolded husband. The film took the prize for best narrative feature at Tribeca in 2004. Hai Yitian and Li Congxi take the leads in Liu Fendou’s Chinese film of 2004.
