Green Sea

Anna has lost her memory but has not forgotten how to cook. One night she turns up in a working class neighbourhood and finds both a job as a cook and a place to stay at a modest tavern by the shore. In the kitchen, among the smell of spices and old forgotten recipes, she tries to rebuild her own past. The plain but excellent food she makes wakes memories in the regulars, and they in turn help her find her way back to herself. When the owner of the tavern comes upon the Green Sea the story goes somewhere unexpected and Anna’s identity comes out. In Angeliki Antoniou’s ninety four minute Greek German co-production, Angeliki Papoulia plays Anna, with Yannis Tsortekis in the cast, and it opened on 25 November 2021.
