Happier Times, Grump

The old man has decided that everything is finished; his wife is dead, his affairs are settled, and one job is left: building his own coffin. Just then his granddaughter turns up. She needs her grandfather's stubbornness and what he knows. In return the old man finds a new reason and a secret he has to keep. Tiina Lymi directed the film from Tuomas Kyrö's novel; it is the second in the Mielensäpahoittaja series. Heikki Kinnunen took the part over for the first time here. It was the most watched domestic production in Finland in 2018, and Satu Tuuli Karhu won a Jussi award for the granddaughter. The telling uses the shape of the grumpy old man without making him look ridiculous.
