What Home Is About

There is a large house in the middle of the steppe, and the Shamanovs are gathering in it. The family is big, the past is heavy, and everyone has an account they will not put into words. Then Viktor, the eldest brother, turns up after twenty-five years away. His return brings whatever has gone unsaid to the surface. What nobody knows is that Viktor is running from a dark past and that there are men looking for where he has gone. Oleg Pogodin directs, with Sergey Garmash and Bohdan Stupka. It runs over two hours. It begins as a family drama and turns, slowly, into a house under siege. The house itself is very nearly a character.
