Hotel Sorrento

Meg, Pippa and Hillary are three sisters. All three grew up in Sorrento. Sorrento is a small seaside town in Australia. Meg has been living in England for ten years. She has written a novel and it has been widely praised. Meg says the book is entirely invented. The town does not read it that way. Neither does her family. They find things in it they recognise. The three sisters come together again. Old accounts open up slowly. The story turns around that reunion. The question of whose story anyone is entitled to tell stands in the middle of it. Caroline Goodall and Caroline Gillmer appear in the hundred and twelve minute film, an Australian and British co-production Richard Franklin finished in 1995.
