A film crew from Germany is shooting in a remote village in the northeast of Turkey. They interview an elderly Kurdish woman who lost her son years ago; she performs an old ritual to keep his memory alive. The young woman helping the crew with Kurdish translation is also looking after seven year old Melek. Melek’s father Zafer belongs to a shadowy organisation whose purpose is unclear, and at a certain point he has to choose between his family and it. The film brings the question of watching and recording into the account as well. Ahmet Varli appears in Ayse Polat’s hundred and eighteen minute film, completed in 2023.
