Two Types of People

Tunc Sahin's 2021 film follows two people working at a company that buys up debts banks have failed to collect. The job of Duygu and Bahadir is to corner the debtor with psychological pressure and extract payment. A young woman named Ceren becomes their new target. The film presents this work not as the wickedness of individuals but as a defined procedure. Call scripts, performance targets and team meetings are shown in detail; the pressure is not a choice, it is the job. That carries the film into territory rare in Turkish cinema: the moral cost of white-collar labour. The encounter between Burcu Biricik and Pinar Deniz is at the centre. The visual language is cold: open-plan office, glass, fluorescent light. The film imposes no moral conclusion and rescues none of its characters. Who it's for: those who like contemporary Turkish cinema and workplace-based thrillers. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a reassuring resolution; the film leaves the question of the debt open.
