What Keep the Change Is About
David, who wants to make films, is ordered by a judge to attend a social programme at a community centre, and is quite certain he does not belong there. Then he is paired with the irrepressible Sarah for a trip to the Brooklyn Bridge and every one of his convictions starts to give way. What stands in the way of the relationship growing between them is Sarah’s past, David’s judgmental mother, and their own ideas about what love is supposed to look like. Rachel Israel cast autistic actors in the roles and wrote the story with their own experience. It won best US narrative feature at Tribeca.
