Kings

In the middle of the seventies a group of young men leave Connemara. Where they go is London. All of them hope for a better life. Thirty years pass. The group comes together again at a funeral. The one who died is the youngest of them, Jackie. Jackie was killed by a train on the underground. Most of those left made their living on building sites. The years have been hard on some of them. After the funeral a long night begins. The old days and the present come one after another. The truth about Jackie’s death slowly comes out. The account comes from a play by Jimmy Murphy. Colm Meaney and Donal O’Kelly take the leads in Tommy Collins’s Irish and British coproduction of 2007.
