Kutty Srank

Kutty Srank is a boatman. He carries cargo through the backwaters of Kerala. He lives alone and his temper is quick. The work keeps him moving along the coast. One day he is found dead. How the death happened is unclear. Three women then come forward. Each of them says she was his wife. Each tells of a different period. What they say does not fit together. The same man comes to us as three separate people. The film does not say which account is true. Water, the boat and the shore run through the whole story. It was named best feature at the national film awards. Mammootty and Padmapriya Janakiraman appear in the hundred and twenty seven minute film, an Indian production Shaji N. Karun finished in 2010.
