La Soledad

Jose lives with his family in a villa called La Soledad. The house is run down and has not been repaired in years. The neighbourhood was once among the wealthy parts of Caracas. Little is left of those days now. One day Jose gets bad news. The owners are planning to sell the property. That decision would leave the family on the street. He starts looking for a way out. He thinks about where his young daughter will grow up. The slums of the city are open to crime and to danger. Jose wants to keep her away from that. He knocks on every door and tries every possibility. The crisis in the country is deepening at the same time. The film looks at a whole country through one house and one family. José Dolores López and Marley Alvillaes López appear in the eighty nine minute film, a Venezuelan production Jorge Thielen Armand finished in 2017.
