LaCapaGira

Bari, in the last cold days of a hard winter. A gang of small-time criminals moves around the outskirts of the city after a package sent from the Balkans, a package that will never reach where it is meant to go. All night everyone is looking for everyone else, nobody quite knows what they are doing, and the job keeps slipping out of their hands. This is Alessandro Piva's first feature and is counted among the forerunners of black comedy shot in local dialect in Italy. The dialogue is in the Bari dialect and the film was released in Italy with subtitles. It runs seventy-five minutes. The telling does not inflate its criminals; on the contrary it shows how small they are. The tone is dry and the humour bitter and local.
