Line of Fire

The film is based on the story of the Dutch commando Marco Kroon. Kroon received his country’s highest military decoration. That decoration had not been given to anyone for more than fifty years. After the award an investigation was opened into him. The charges rest on allegations to do with drugs and weapons. So the same man carries both a medal and a case file. The film sets those two things beside each other. The account takes up the tension between soldiering and the law. What Kroon says himself and what the file alleges are inside the same account. Sallie Harmsen and Pierre Bokma are also in the cast. Waldemar Torenstra takes the lead in Roel Reiné’s Dutch film of 2023.
