What Local Boys Is About
On his twelfth birthday Skeet is given his first surfboard by his older brother Randy, and the boy’s summer fills at once with the search for a wave, beach parties and long hours in the water. When Randy’s attention turns to a girl, Skeet is left on his own and the legendary surfer Jim Wesley takes him under his wing. But Randy, who has lost their father, can bear neither the man’s influence over his brother nor his approach to their mother. Skeet is caught between the two men.
