Love the Beast

Eric Bana bought his first car as a young man: a 1974 Ford Falcon coupe. Thirty years later he still has the same car and is still working on it with the same friends. Bana decides to enter it in the punishing Targa rally in Tasmania. There is a serious crash during the race. Bana's first film as a director starts like a car documentary and ends up somewhere else. After the crash the question becomes this: why does a person become so attached to an object, and what is that object actually standing in for. Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson and Phil McGraw also speak in it. The real subject is not the car but a thirty-year friendship and the passing of time.
