What Love! Valour! Compassion! Is About
Eight gay friends spend three long weekends of one summer at a lakeside house in upstate New York. The house belongs to Gregory, a choreographer, whose lover Bobby is blind. Buzz is obsessed with musicals and HIV positive. Perry and Arthur have been together fourteen years. James is ill too, and his twin brother John is the man nobody likes. There is also Ramon, a young dancer John brings along, and who is with whom shifts across those weekends. The thing underneath all of it is how much time each of them has left. Joe Mantello directs, adapting Terrence McNally's play. A hundred and eight minutes. Most of the cast is the one from the stage production. Jason Alexander plays Buzz.
