Lucky Lu

Lloyd Lee Choi's 2026 film follows Lu, a delivery rider in New York. His e-bike is stolen, and with it the only way he can work. His family, apart from him for years, are on their way. The film follows a single day's search for a solution; the narrative also records the community failing to help and blames no one easily. Chang Chen leads. The images were shot on the street and at night. The tone is calm and there is no large event. Who it's for: viewers of realist city drama and migration narratives. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a close that resolves; the film keeps the bind in place.
