What Lucky Miles Is About
The year is 1990. An Indonesian fishing boat comes in to the coast of Western Australia. It leaves its passengers there and goes. The passengers are Iraqi and Cambodian refugees. The coast is an empty place. Most of them are picked up quickly. Three are not. The three have nothing in common. Not their languages and not their pasts. The only thing they share is the situation they are in. That, and not wanting to be caught. So they start walking inland into Australia. The road stretches out. The film tells it with humour in places. The story draws on real events. Kenneth Moraleda and Rodney Afif appear in the hundred and five minute film, an Australian production Michael James Rowland finished in 2007.
