Leo John Paul's 2025 Tamil crime film follows Dhruv, a senior police officer played by Vijay Antony, pursuing a serial killer case. It works the familiar template of the detective wrestling with a loss in his own past; every clue opens another dark layer, and a mysterious swimmer settles at the centre of the investigation. Samuthirakani's presence adds weight. The psychological crime thriller has been one of the most productive veins in recent Tamil cinema, and this one runs on the standard equipment: a dark palette, a chronology broken up by flashbacks, a connection revealed in the last act. Vijay Antony's restrained performance carries the film, but the script explains the killer's motivation late and all at once, dissolving its own suspense. Who it's for: viewers who follow Tamil crime thrillers and Vijay Antony's recent work. Who it's not for: anyone uncomfortable with the depictions of violence common to serial killer narratives, or who needs the solution to hold together tightly.
