Marilyn

Marcos works as a ranch hand with his family. While his father and his older brother do the heavy work, he stays at the house, close to his mother. Everyone has a future laid out in front of them; Marcos waits for the carnival, because it is the one time he can be himself. His father’s sudden death leaves the family defenceless. The owner of the ranch presses them to leave, and his mother pushes him to take over the work in the fields. The young people in the town have given him the name Marilyn, and that name makes him a target of desire and of discrimination at once. Walter Pez plays the lead in Martin Rodriguez Redondo’s eighty minute Argentine film, completed in 2018.
