Cassim Kaif is a young Muslim man. He lives in the Fordsburg district of Johannesburg. He works in his father’s fabric shop. He is the only son in the family. By tradition he is expected to take the shop over. His father Ebrahim has arranged it that way. Cassim, though, has something else in mind. He wants to get up on stage and do comedy. He keeps this hidden from his family. He gets a regular slot at a bar. Every evening he has to invent an excuse. His father is devout and stern. He is a man who lived through the apartheid years. If he learns what his son is doing he will not take it well. Running the two lives at once grows harder and harder. Riaad Moosa and Carishma Basday appear in the ninety four minute film, a South African production Craig Freimond finished in 2012.
