Vijay Kartikeyaa's 2024 Kannada film follows a hard-edged police officer posted to a new station. On the night he reports for duty an unexpected chain of events begins and the station itself becomes the centre of the conflict. The structure rests largely on one night and one place. The narrative opens its background little by little; the officer's past and the reason he was sent there are learned late. Sudeepa leads and the whole weight of the film is on him. The action sequences are long and the violence exaggerated; the narrative does not question its hero and stays inside the genre form. Who it's for: those who like Kannada action films. Who it's not for: viewers expecting restrained violence; the film stages its fights for spectacle.
