Mediterranean Fever

Waleed is forty. He lives in Haifa. His wife and children are with him. He wants to be a writer. He has been living with a long depression. The writing does not get anywhere. He grows close to his neighbour. The neighbour is a small time crook. Waleed has a plan in mind. He does not tell the neighbour what it is. In time a real friendship forms between them, and the friendship changes the plan. It also draws the two of them into some dark encounters, and much of the film is simply the time they spend together. Amer Hlehel and Ashraf Farah appear in the hundred and eight minute film, a Cypriot, French, German and Palestinian production Maha Haj finished in 2022.
