What Mi mejor enemigo Is About
A small unit of Chilean soldiers breaks its compass, gets lost on the Patagonian plain and starts digging trenches without knowing whose country they are standing in. Before long they realise an Argentine platoon is nearby. Neither group knows what to do, so they begin passing notes by way of a stray dog, and a wary comradeship forms. Alex Bowen's 2005 film is set during the Beagle conflict of 1978. Our record describes this as a war between Chile and Argentina; no such war took place, and the tension was resolved before it became one.
