Miracle

Irena runs a pig farm in a tiny town. The farm is in trouble and close to bankruptcy. The town is trying to stand on its own feet inside the years after communism. Just then a handsome American turns up and appears to be the answer to all her prayers. The film offers the figure of the saviour not as a hope but as a question. How capital arriving from outside is received in a post communist town is the real subject. Comedy and drama stand side by side in the same scenes. Eglė Mikulionytė and Vyto Ruginis take the leads, with Daniel Olbrychski also in the cast. Eglė Vertelytė’s ninety two minute film, a joint Bulgarian, Lithuanian and Polish production, was completed in 2018.
