Moloch Tropical

The film is set in Haiti. The account begins in a fortress on a hill. The president of the country lives in that fortress. The man came to office by election. A state ceremony is being prepared for that day. When morning comes the news is bad. A rising has broken out across the country overnight. The trouble goes on in the streets. Even reaching the fortress becomes difficult. The whole country is caught up in the rising. Even so the ceremony is not called off. The president carries on with the preparations. Those around him try to tell him how things stand. Zinedine Soualem and Sonia Rolland take the leads in Raoul Peck’s French and Haitian coproduction of 2009.
