What Monologue Is About

Professor Sretensky is a scientist and heads a research centre. He lives apart from his wife and is alone in the house. His daughter, who lives with the mother, comes and stays with him for a while, then leaves her own daughter with him and goes. He raises the granddaughter and comes to love her deeply. The film keeps three generations inside one house and sets the life a man gave to his work beside the time left over for his family. The account is not looking for great events; it shows how the years pass. Mikhail Gluzsky plays the lead in Ilya Averbakh’s ninety four minute Soviet film, completed in 1973.
