What Mountain Top Is About
In a small Appalachian town in western North Carolina, an elderly couple come to the door of a man who left the law to become a preacher. The husband has been arrested for embezzlement and his wife is convinced that God has chosen this former attorney to defend him. The preacher eventually agrees and finds himself inside a case that touches his own life in the town, and the truth of it is more tangled than it first appears. Gary Wheeler’s hundred and two minute American film was made as a faith based drama, but it proceeds in a quiet register rather than putting the sermon in front. Barry Corbin, Coby Ryan McLaughlin, Lin Shaye and Valerie Azlynn star.
