Mr. Gullible

Halu lives in a small town. He is plain and well meaning. He likes reciting poetry. He wants to marry. For that he goes to Tehran. He does not know the city at all. He steps off the bus into the crowd. What he is after is a simple life. The city works another way. Everyone there has a calculation. Halu loses his heart to a woman. The woman works in prostitution. He becomes attached to her without knowing it. The film is about the distance between the city and the town. It does not end sweetly. Ali Nasirian and Ezzatollah Entezami appear in the hundred and twelve minute film, an Iranian production Dariush Mehrjui finished in 1970.
