What Mr. Moto's Gamble Is About

When a boxing match turns into a murder, Mr. Moto goes after it with one clue in hand: a poisoned glove. Lee Chan, a detective in training, works beside him, and the trail leads to a crooked gambling syndicate. The strangest thing about the film is behind the scenes: the script was written as a Charlie Chan picture, and when Warner Oland walked off the production it was converted into a Moto film to salvage the footage already shot, which is why Chan’s son is still in the cast. Peter Lorre playing the Japanese detective is what the series draws most objection for now.
