Paramej Noiam A Anchana Ponpitakthepkij K Karuna Looktumthong N Nattapong Swangsang What Mundane History Is About
A friendship forms between a young man from a wealthy Bangkok family who has been left paralysed and his male nurse, who comes from the northeast of Thailand. The film gives this relation not as a service of care but as time two people spend together in the same house. The difference of class and the distance between the regions of the country stand throughout beneath the text. The account does not run its time straight; it gives events out of order and offers no large explanation. The house is almost the only setting and the outside enters only through sound. The film’s ending carries the story onto an entirely different scale. Phakpoom Surapongsanuruk plays the lead in Anocha Suwichakornpong’s eighty two minute Thai film, completed in 2009.
