On the way they stop at the village Sangwa has not visited for years, and there the fact that the two boys come from different peoples becomes an open matter; every day they stay changes the meaning of where they were going. Lee Isaac Chung’s first feature was shot in Rwanda with local actors in eleven days, most of the cast found through orphanages and part of the crew drawn from students he had taught in Kigali. The ninety seven minute production was the first narrative feature made in the Kinyarwanda language and screened in Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2007.
