My Dear Kuttichathan

At the centre of the film is Kuttichathan. Kuttichathan is a genie out of local belief. He lives in an abandoned house. He is held under the spell of an evil sorcerer. One day three children summon him by accident. The summoning breaks the spell and the genie is freed. Kuttichathan appears to the children in the guise of a boy. He then becomes their friend. He carries out their wishes one by one. The account is built on that friendship. The film was the first work in India shot in three dimensions. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. M.P. Ramnath and Sonia Bose Venkat take the leads in Jijo Punnoose’s Malayalam film of 1984.
