My Emptiness and I

Raphi is a trans woman who has come from France. She works at a call centre in Barcelona. She has fantasies of romances with princes. She also dreams of starting a traditional family. But real life does not work that way. The dates she goes on are often awkward. Her therapist gives her a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. The film follows her transition and her ordinary days together. Raphi talks candidly with colleagues, with queer friends, and with the men she meets through apps. For all the advice she is given, it is time and experience that mostly help her find her place. Raphaëlle Perez takes the lead in Adrián Silvestre’s Spanish film of 2022.
