Next to Me

Olja is a teacher at a high school. She is attacked by a group in masks. Afterwards she learns that some of her own students were among them. So she decides to lock them inside the school building. What she wants is to teach them something and to have it out with them. That confrontation behind a closed door makes up the body of the film. The film does not take the violence of the young on its own; it questions the state of the school and of the country too. That what the teacher does is itself open to argument is the real subject. Hristina Popović and Mirjana Karanović appear in Stevan Filipović’s ninety five minute Serbian film, completed in 2015.
