What Not by Chance Is About
Ênio is a middle aged man living alone after a relationship that ended. He is a traffic engineer and directs the flow of cars in São Paulo. Pedro is thirty and is with Teresa. He runs the workshop his father left him, making snooker tables. What the two of them share is the effort to keep life under control. Then a road accident brings those two separate paths across each other. From that moment the control slips out of their hands. What the film asks is how a small fraction of time changes a life. Rodrigo Santoro and Leonardo Medeiros appear in Philippe Barcinski’s Brazilian film of 2007, ninety minutes long.
