What Not the End Is About
Javier comes from the future, meaning to recover the love that has been lost between him and María. The two of them live the day they met over again and repeat the journey they made from a sunrise in Madrid to a sunset on the Andalusian coast. Everything Javier does is aimed at bringing María back to the woman full of life he once fell in love with; but repeating the same day is not enough to make the day the same. The ninety six minute Spanish film by the brothers César and José Esteban Alenda uses time travel not as a science fiction device but as a form of mourning. Javier Rey plays Javier and María León plays María. It was completed in 2018.
