What Once Upon a Star Is About

In 1970 a travelling cinema troupe is going from village to village across Thailand. They set up and show sixteen millimetre films, and they voice every line of every character live into a microphone. But the work has another side to it: halfway through the screening the film is stopped, and the troupe has to sell the products of the pharmaceutical company that pays them. Until the quota is met the film does not go on. The account carries both the story among these people and an affection for the Thai cinema of that time. Nonzee Nimibutr’s hundred and thirty eight minute Thai film was completed in 2023.
