Oru Kuprasidha Payyan

The film tells a murder investigation and draws on real events in Kerala. The question at its centre is this: how can a person be declared guilty when there is no solid proof. Who the suspect is, what circle he comes from and whose word carries weight all shape the story. The account ties the tension of a crime story to a matter of law. The effect of the press and of public opinion on a case stands as a subject of its own. The film shows less how the culprit is found than how a culprit is chosen. The hundred and forty five minutes are used to carry the length of that process. Tovino Thomas and Nimisha Sajayan appear in Madhupal’s Indian film, completed in 2018.
