Out of Sight

Ya’ara is doing a doctorate in mathematics. She studies at Princeton. She is blind. One day bad news reaches her. Her cousin Talia has died. The two had been close since childhood. Talia had been the eye that looked for her. She was the one who told Ya’ara she could see everything. Ya’ara returns to Israel. She joins the family for the seven days of mourning. In those days she learns other things. There were sides of Talia’s life nobody knew. Ya’ara wants to understand why. She begins an inquiry of her own. The film tells that search without dwelling on detail. Tali Sharon and Assi Dayan appear in the eighty seven minute film, an Israeli production Daniel Syrkin finished in 2006.
