Paraiso Travel

Marlon is a young man living comfortably in Medellín. His girlfriend Reina persuades him to go to the United States. The two of them try to cross illegally, through Guatemala and Mexico. The road is far longer and far heavier than they expected. When they reach New York, Marlon loses Reina one night; he has neither the address nor the language. He starts living in that city by looking for her. Simón Brand adapted the film from Jorge Franco's novel, with Aldemar Correa as Marlon, Angélica Blandón as Reina and John Leguizamo also in the cast. It tells the migrant route without romanticising it, and shows that arriving is not a solution either.
