What Paris by Night Is About
Simon Weiss commands the police unit that keeps an eye on Paris after dark. Over the course of a single night he works his way through the bars, the clubs and the strip joints, talking to the owners, taking the measure of who is pushing which line and how far. He has done this for years, so he knows all of them and they know him. What he also knows is that he is caught: the gangs operate freely in his patch because the people protecting them sit upstairs in his own building. Philippe Lefebvre keeps the camera on Weiss throughout, with the city sliding past a car window. Roschdy Zem leads, with Samuel Le Bihan and Sara Forestier.
