Paul Is Dead

The events take place in the summer of 1980. The setting is a small town in West Germany. Tobias is a boy of twelve. He has grown up listening to the Beatles. He dreams of starting a band with his older brother Till. Tobias collects everything about the group. He studies album sleeves and lyrics. He starts to believe a claim. He thinks Paul McCartney has died. He believes a lookalike took his place. He argues that this was kept from the public. The more evidence he gathers the more he holds to it. The people around him do not take him seriously. The idea stays with him all summer. The film tells the story of one adolescent summer. Vasko Scholz and Martin Reinhold appear in the seventy five minute film, a German production Hendrik Handloegten finished in 2000.
