Paz!

Bologna, the late seventies. Twenty-four hours of university students sharing a flat: lectures, dope, girls, half-hearted politics. The city is shaking with the student movement in those years, but these young men's commitment to it is loose. The film comes out of the drawings and characters of Andrea Pazienza, one of the brightest figures in Italian underground comics. Renato De Maria directed. Pazienza died of heroin at thirty-two, and the drug reality of that period is in the film too. Scattered, loud, and with no interest in telling an orderly story.
