Phobidilia

A young man breaks down in a public place and decides never to go outside again. He leaves the confusion of the city and shuts himself in his apartment. He finds that in today’s world this is possible: food arrives by telephone, entertainment is on the screen, everything else is online. Four years pass like that. Then two people break the arrangement. One is Daniella, who is full of life; the other is Grumps, the building’s estate agent, who brings word that the apartment is to be sold. Grumps is an elderly survivor of the Holocaust, and Daniella has a run of bad relationships behind her. Both think the man has to come out, but he has no intention of giving up his kingdom. Yoav Paz and Doron Paz’s eighty seven minute Israeli film was completed in 2009.
