Stavros runs a small shop in the Athens neighbourhood called Plato's Academy and spends his days sitting on the pavement with his friends watching people go by. He does not like migrants and does not hide it. One day his mother sees an Albanian labourer in the street, embraces him and calls him her son. What Stavros knew about himself comes apart in that moment. Filippos Tsitos's film shows racism not as a thesis but as a habit: the men sit, they make remarks, and none of them counts himself a racist. Antonis Kafetzopoulos takes the lead. The film won a prize at the Locarno Film Festival in 2009. The comic tone is used to carry the weight of the subject.
