Princess of the Row

A girl placed in the foster system keeps running away from it. The only reason she runs is to reach her father. He is a former soldier and lives on the street in the Skid Row district of Los Angeles. His mental health is not good and he cannot always recognise his daughter. She still counts him as the only family she has. The film tells their effort to stay together in their own language rather than the language of institutions. It neither pities the man living on the street nor holds him up as an example. Tayler Buck and Edi Gathegi take the leads, with Martin Sheen also in the cast. Max Carlson’s ninety minute American film was completed in 2020.
