What Punching the World Is About
Two brothers grow up in Saxony. Their names are Philipp and Tobias. The time is the turn of the millennium. The family had moved into a new house. They took that for happiness. The region is in decline. Work went after reunification. People are leaving. Those who stay have little in front of them. Things at home come apart too, and the brothers take it differently. Philipp withdraws into himself. Tobias looks for somewhere to put his anger, and when word comes that a shelter for refugees is to open in the town, he turns to violence. The film comes from Lukas Rietzschel’s novel, with Anja Schneider in the cast, made in a hundred and ten minutes by Constanze Klaue, a German production finished in 2025.
