What Remake Is About

The film follows a father and a son together. The father is Ahmed and the son is Tarik Karaga. Their stories belong to two different wars. Ahmed lived through the Second World War in Sarajevo. Tarik lives through the siege of Sarajevo, which began in 1992. Tarik is trying to write a screenplay. What he is writing is his father’s life. He finishes the text in Paris in 1993. The screenplay wins a prize, and the prize gets him out for a while. The film shows how much the two of them went through in common. Father and son are both arrested and both sent to work camps. What the account says is that violence repeats itself, in a screenplay by Zlatko Topčić.
